On December 13, 2018, H.E. Wang Wentian, the new Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, presented the Letter of Credence to H.M. Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, in the Royal Palace of Cambodia.

Ambassador Wang conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Madam Peng Liyuan to King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath. He noted that China and Cambodia are good friends with sincerity and good brothers in deep affection. Since the establishment of the diplomatic relationship 60 years ago, the China-Cambodia friendship, cultivated by Late King Norodom Sihanouk and the older generations of Chinese leaders, has been continuously solidified and developed. The historic visit to Cambodia by President Xi Jinping in 2016 elevated the bilateral relationship to a new height, with the practical cooperation in all areas between both sides being increasingly deepened. As China's new Ambassador to Cambodia, he would like to work closely with the Cambodian side to fully implement the significant consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, making positive contribution and efforts to the further development of China-Cambodia relations.

King Norodom Sihamoni requested Ambassador Wang to convey cordial greetings and best wishes from himself and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath to President Xi Jinping and Madam Peng Liyuan. He said the Royal Family and the Royal Government of Cambodia highly cherished the traditional friendly relationship with China, and sincerely appreciated the important contribution made by the Chinese government and Chinese people to the economic and social development of Cambodia. Cambodia feels truly glad to see the magnificent achievements of China's national development and construction under the leadership of President Xi Jinping. He emphasized that Cambodia would actively support the synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and Cambodia's development strategy, and believed that the Cambodia-China relationship would achieve greater development during the tenure of Ambassador Wang.
